The usual trip updates, ahoy!

After leaving St. Louis Saturday morning.. quite reluctantly, but I'd imposed quite enough.. headed down to Oklahoma City to hang out with archai. Had fine Korean food, got to see Iron Man at last, got another piece of my car fixed (Fuel Filter replaced).

In the morning, headed down to Waco, Texas. and Baylor University, the almost mater. (For those who don't know, I came close to, but did not, graduate from there.) It was.. good nostalgia. Seeing the old campus, getting to see the computer room where I discovered.. oh.. The internet, FurryMUCK, VCL.. eating the Taco Cabana, all such. Sad to see KWBU become an NPR station. Man.. we played the Descendents there. It's the usual mix of "Wow, it's all different" and "Wow, it's exactly the same" that one would expect.

After time there, down to Austin, to hang with ipequey and his roommate, pacerfox. Good food, good bad movie.

Monday, headed from there to San Antonio to see the Alamo (an island of deep respect and history surrounded by touristness), and from there to Houston. Been visiting with paracoon and kcarp, and their two kids Joseph And Brian. Houston Zoo, lunch at "The Hobbit", and other just hanging out then and today.

It's been a good series of visits... most of my prior stops have been with people I know very well, but this is two rather new friends, and two old friends that I've drifted a bit apart from. And it's been nice that it's all felt very fun, relaxed, and natural with all of them. It's always good to be able to deepen friendships.

And again: Dang it Baylor. NPR??
