There will be a meef test.|
Two days completed of the new job. The work is easy. The dance of challenging your part-time boss with ways to improve... without stepping on toes... while trying to maintain pre-work friendship... while knowing more than he does on certain things... while not trying to be a know-it-all... that, that's hard.
Okay, the latest LJ go-around (As John, Austin, and others have posted) is mutating rapidly in phraseology., so I'll mutate it more, of course.
Reply to this post, with a post containing the word 'meef'. I shall reply with a post saying what I find (admirable, adorable, or interesting) about you. Then, post this in your own journal.
--Chiaroscuro, "The cat goes meow, the bird goes chirp, the mongoose goes meef."
*chuckles* I'll certainly respond, Drake; you've been a most generous friend over the years, and one of the people for whom conversation most naturally flows with. It's easy to get you talking, and to continue talking as well, and it's good conversation that wanders from trivial to deep and back again. Also, a small but should-be-noted thing, you come up with puns as equally as bad as mine, yet have the knack for making me feel like mine are better.
What do you get when you cross a mongoose with a jackalope? A Meefalope. :)
And the snakes FEAR his antlers.
As Austin already put it, even when rough things happen to you, you still make it your mission to keep others cheered. You're a more learned person than many realize, and a tremendously kind fur.
Meef, eh? Well, that seems like a viable enough word.
The universal mongoose sound, as well as a non-species specific call of surprise, alert, sadness or dissapointment. I didn't coin it, but I try to keep it popularized; one of my great joys was hearing Roon use it, in proper context, while he was talking with an alt of mine.
As for you, Austin, you have- as many folks would note- a sharp sense of humor and writing ability, coupled with the gung-ho drive to do someothing with it as many of us don't. And you're an affectionate person, and not showy about it. Thirdly.. you have a knack, on furryMUCK, for being able to be cajoled and manipulated, while maintaining a faintly discomfited but not unconvenienced attitude. There's a shorter word for all of that, but it doesn't come to mind.
