Singer, desert, or horse? It's all the fault of those darned commas. Those little guys are always up to no good!

Thinking about it, he does go on to sing how "In the desert, you can't remember your name" so it kinda implies the singer has no name. When I hear the song though, it seems as if the horse has no name.

Stupid commas!

And yes, the lyrics might suggest that, but the song title is 'A Horse With No Name", so.. argh!

And here I always thought the greatest confusion over the song was everyone thinking it was Neil Young.

Well, the NAME of the song is 'Horse With No Name', so that should help....

And a response to Murakozi, most people (including myself) and most of the lyrics web pages hear the line as 'In the Desert, you CAN remember your name'...
