Wait, isn't that...that's FOX?! The hell! Are they finally admitting the fandom ties implicit in their name, or what?
THOSE ARE TEN KINDS OF AWESOME! Fuckin' FINALLY!
Call Professor X, The Beast has turned on us. ovO
Now I will be so disappointed if this episode doesn't end up with Kelsey Grammar in a blue fuzzy costume. *snif*
Now how did this sneak under my work radar??
... Oh, yeah, because I don't spend enough time over at Fox TV. THAT will be remedied. :)
(Actually, I need a way to get more of the dailies sent to my office. "Testing DVD burning and playback", yes yes, that should do...)
Mmmhmmm. Yeah, I don't know how you missed thiiis. You need now to be on a mission to find out if this is an scriptwriter mole, or just someone on staff using wikipedia. ;)
Well for my money, my... er... money is on WIkipedia. The approach in the clips we see here - 'furry is people dressing in fursuits' - implies no great knowledge of the event or the fandom, just a glance at that entry in the Guiness Book Of World Records. :)
I can handle the general media good of "Furry is Fursuiting", yeah. It's not too far from "Trekkie is Spock Ears and Klingon Suits." Visual aspects dominate.

Wow...it was almost respectable...though the comment "these are the people Trekkies beat up" got me. Just let a Trekkie TRY it... *grrs*
I also find it funny that the costumes most people wear at AC are of MUCH higher quality than the ones shown in the clip there. *snerks*
Man, I almost wish I had cable.
The real furry costumes are always better. these are 'raid the props department and see what we can get' I'm sure.
And this is broadcast TV! Straight-up Fox!
On Some Other LJ, someone mentioned that some suits from CSI are visible in the background, so odds are these are costumes from some supplier in Hollywood.
... who's thinking, wow, 10 years and nothin' and now all of a sudden I can't keep up with all the rentals for these animal suits. I wonder what that's all about. :)
I'm still only about halfway through the 'Fur and Loathing' episode. I watch about 3 minutes a month, that's as much as I can handle. ;)
I'm sure the supplier is using them for local furniture store commercials and other such; still, it's amusing to think that somewhere, someone's job is to get you fursuits on demand for your TV show. Hee.

Dear, I live in the middle of 300 square miles of CORN. I don't get anything on the antenna. :-P
Oh dear. That's non-groovy. And they don't offer cable at your apartment?
Living with Mom'goose as I still do, we're on the el-cheapo cable plan. $12 a month for pretty much the broadcast channels plus C-Span; for that price it's worth an investment even for low viewing amounts.

They do, if I care to pay for it. I need to figure out my finances before I start adding "fripperies" to my bills. :-)

But...but we used to get Sioux City stations in Vermillion!
...in fact, I think we got both of them!

Maybe it's because I live on the bottom floor of an apartment complex? I dunno, but I don't receive anything from my antenna.
Ah, well, my DVDs are getting a good workout. :-)

Yeah, RF stuff can be harder in town 'cause you have the signal bouncing around every which way. It *probably* helped that we had a massive roof-mount hidden stealthily in the attic. Either way, seriously, you're missing all of like...I think we picked up a *total* of five channels, MAYBE. And most of them, not very well.
In other news, I dunno if Warp told you, but you're living like 20 minutes away from where I went to high school and 30 minutes from my stepdad. Mom used to be the registrar for USD, and one of my recruiters was in the office across from Southern Hills Mall. :}

*perks up* Really?
You mean...there might actually be *cool* people out here? I've been ...hmmm... not so "in tune" with my classmates. Prolly comes from a combination of my background, military experience, and age. *thbls*
Sometimes, I get so bored.
I liked that it wasn't the furries acting like idiots..:P
And also are giving the reporter exactly the response he deserves to his dumb questions. Of course, in the show, he is the schlamozzle, so it's in character. :)
This is a Positive Sign for this episode. We'll see how it goes. :)

Say, on another note - is it just me, or does that bunny look familiar?
Other people have noticed common fursuits in these clips and the CSI episode. I suspect there's a costume rental place somewhere in LA who now and then gets calls for "Hey, we need 15 animal suits on Tuesday."
